My Trip to Switzerland
Last week, I’ve been skiing in Portes de Soleil, Switzerland, and really enjoyed it (my sunburned face is the visible proof). Although quite late in spring skiing is still possible in the +2000m ski resorts that advertise perfect conditions until the end of April.
It was a wonderful day to start holidays: the sun was shining, the cold was almost gone and the wind blowed a mild brise of spring into my face. Directly behind the German/Swiss border a beautyful classical Porsche Carrera 4S Coupe crossed my way and I could not resist to shoot a Photo.
My first stop was the popular City of Montreux with the Genfersee (Lake Geneve) ante portas. With only 21.000 inhabitants it seems much larger than it acutally is. One of the most impressive buildings is the Montreux Palace, a hotel build around 1830 and by far the largest bulding in Montreux. While lingering around I noticed that the flowers blossom, kids are playing ball in the park (some of them already wearing shorts) and some people prepared their boats for the first trip on the Genfersee. I just could not believe that I am on the way to one of the largest ski resorts in the area. Here are some of my impressions:
Finally arrived in Champoussin, the village I spend my time these days, I have not been dissappointed. The paranorama was fantastic, snow all over the place and a sunny day with temperatures about 10°C in the valley and -5°C above 2000m. But look for yourself:
After heavy snow falling in the night, we’ve been able to do some off-pist action on the french side of the resort:
There is even more to tell about, but I currently do not have the time to do so. I think an update will follow shortly.
